This is a bright, citrusy wine, with focused tree fruit aromas of apple, pear, a hint of white peach, and undertones of vanilla and sandalwood. Smooth acidity and a medium palate weight contribute to a soft texture. The fruit expression continues on the palate; hints of nectarine and pear and spicy undertones of nutmeg and white pepper.
The grapes were harvested by hand and whole cluster pressed. The juice settled overnight, then was racked to a stainless tank for fermentation. When primary was complete, the wine was racked to 60% neutral French oak barrels and 40% stainless barrels for aging, undergoing full malolactic, with minimal lees stirring. The wine aged on the lees until bottling the following September.
