10 months in 66% Acacia oak; 34% in stainless
2014 Muller-Thurgau Reserve
Bright, floral aromatics, with hints of citrus, spice and smoke. Medium body, very round in the mouth, with flavors of gooseberry, lime, and honeydew melon. Acidity kicks in in the mid-palate, contributing to a clean finish.
The fruit was hand-harvested, and a portion was destemmed and underwent a three-day cold soak. The skin contact fraction was fermented and aged in a 500 liter acacia barrel, while the remainder was fermented in stainless. The wine aged on the lees for 10 months, until bottling in the fall.
