2014 Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton
May 2017 Cellar Door Club Selection
This wine is very expressive, with aromas of dried cherries, blackberries, black pepper, cinnamon, and clove. Nice fullness on the palate, medium-bodied, with good tension from the acid-tannin balance. On the palate, flavors of dark fruits like black currants, Marionberry, and boysenberry, with hints of cola and a very long finish.
This wine is a blend of Pinot Noir sourced from our estate vineyard and Yamhill Vineyards
The fruit was harvested by hand and destemmed into 1 and 1.5 ton vats. After a 4-5 day cold soak, fermentation began. The must was pumped over and punched down twice daily and pressed at dryness. The wine was aged in 25% new French oak barrels for 16 months and bottled.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair this fuller Pinot with game, braised meats, and hearty stews.
