2017 Pinot Noir Rebecca's Reserve FUTURES
This vintage is very elegant, with a lighter body and finesse. Aromas of cherries, baking spices, and black pepper, with hints of smokiness, peat, and herbs. The red fruit continues on the palate, with cherries, raspberries, and a hint of watermelon. Bright acidity, and light tannins with some grip.
The grapes were harvested by hand, sorted, and 25% destemmed into 1-ton bins. After a 5-day cold soak, fermentation began, and the vats were punched down and pumped over twice daily. We pressed at dryness, combining press fractions. The wine settled overnight, and was racked to neutral French oak barrels until it was racked in the spring.
