Tasting Notes
Clear pale ruby with blue undertones. Aromas of red berry fruits, strawberries, cherries, with a dash of fruit punch and baking spices. On the palate, this wine is earthy and elegant, with bright red fruit, balanced acidity and integrated, fine tannins. Find flavors of cherries, strawberry jam, maple, cola, mushroom, rhubarb, and hints of rose petal.
Vineyard Notes
Own-rooted Pommard clones planted in 1984 at the estate vineyard.
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were harvested by hand, sorted, and 50% destemmed. After a 5-day cold soak, fermentation began. The must was punched down and pumped over twice daily until dry, and pressed at dryness. The wine was aged in 20% new French oak barrels and racked the following spring. The wine aged an additional year in barrels until bottling.
