Clear pale garnet in the glass, aromas of maraschino cherries, baking spices, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, this light-bodied fruity wine has flavors of kirsch, fresh black cherries, jammy strawberries, black raspberries, allspice, plums and fresh herbs.
22 acres of estate vines, including 9 grape varieties. Silty clay loam soils at an elevation of 725 feet; average vine age of 27 years.
The grapes for this wine were harvested from each block of the estate vineyard, gradually filling a 1-ton fermenter over the course of several weeks. During fermentation, the must was punched down twice daily, reducing to one punch down toward the end of fermentation, and pressed at dryness. The wine was settled and aged in neutral French oak barrels until bottling the winter of 2019.
