Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Very nice aromatics of razzleberry and cinnamon. Nice and round on the palate, with flavors of mixed berry compote and cola. Balanced acidity, and a nice long finish with very light tannins.
Vineyard Notes
22 acres of estate vines, including 9 grape varieties. Silty clay loam soils at an elevation of 725 feet; average vine age of 28 years.
Winemaker Notes
The grapes for this wine were harvested from each block of the estate vineyard, gradually filling a 1-ton fermenter over the course of several weeks. During fermentation, the must was punched down twice daily, reducing to one punch down toward the end of fermentation, and pressed at dryness. The wine was settled and aged in neutral French oak barrels until bottling the spring of 2020.
Food Pairing Notes
Barbecue, grilled meats, charcuterie, chevre, and summertime.
