WSU Virtual Tasting with Kramer Vineyards
Kramer Vineyards is a family owned and operated winery, founded by WSU alums Trudy and Keith Kramer, now in its second generation. For 36 years, they have been growing grapes at their sustainably farmed vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. Kramer specializes in producing cool climate white, red, and sparkling wines at their property in Gaston, 30 miles west of Portland.
These three wines are a perfect representation of their winemaking style and showcase the breadth of their portfolio. For this virtual tasting event, we'll taste the following wines:
- 2015 Brut - a traditional method sparkling wine that's a blend of estate grown Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. This wine is fresh and crisp, with Meyer lemon, yeastiness, creamy texture, apple and citrus, and a minerally finish.
- 2018 Müller-Thurgau Estate - light and fruity, this German-Swiss cross is a real crowd-pleaser. Brimming with tropical fruit and white flowers, find lychee, gardenia, passionfruit, pear, honey, kiwi, and sweet basil. The aromas follow through in the mouth, with guava, mango, green apple, pineapple, and lime, with basil emerging in the very long finish.
- 2017 Pinot Noir Estate - the Yamhill-Carlton AVA has ancient marine soils and a unique microclimate that produces ruby-hued wines with broad, silky tannins and brambly red berry fruits; raspberry, blackberry and black cherries, with hints of tobacco, espresso, clove, dark chocolate, rose, violet, lavender and sweet wood smoke.
$99 per 3-pack; includes the wines, shipping, and the virtual tasting. Please order by February 5. Wine shipments require an adult signature for delivery.
