2014 Grenache Blanc/Marsanne
A white Rhône blend that's a great alternative to Chardonnay
September 26 & October 15, 2014
Golden in the glass with aromas of honey, beeswax, citrus, acacia, and apricot. Dry and medium-bodied on the palate, find flavors of lemon and orange, with pear and honeysuckle.
The Grenache Blanc came in early, highlighting acidity. Marsanne came in late, with big, juicy, sweet berries. The wines were fermented separately, and blended pre-malo. Aged in stainless, and left on fine lees for 6 months until bottling.
Food Pairing Notes
Serve chilled with white beans, Gruyère, roasted Cornish game hens, curries, white fish, pork chops, or crab legs with garlic butter.
