2018 Grüner Veltliner
Fresh, citrusy aromas of lemon, lime, and cucumber, with accents of peach, white flowers and freshly cut grass. On the palate, this wine is dry, with a lovely medium-light weight and acidity that manages to be both bright and round. Flavors of peach, green apple, pear, and a long finish.
Estate vines planted in 2010; Willakenzie soils, 767.42 ft. elevation
The fruit was hand-harvested, sorted, whole-cluster pressed and the juice settled overnight. The juice was then racked and fermented cool in a stainless steel tank. After fermentation was complete, the wine was racked and aged on the fine lees until the following spring. The wine was lightly fined with bentonite and sterile filtered at bottling.
Food Pairing Notes
Serve chilled with blue cheese, lobster, pork, seared scallops, sushi, or Thai. Especially good with hard to pair bitter vegetables, like asparagus or artichokes.
