2015 Rosé of Pinot Gris
Aromas of strawberry, bubblegum, and cucumber, followed by flavors of red grapefruit, lime, herbs, with tart, racy acidity.
The grapes for this wine are from a block of vines we've come to refer to as Rogue Pinot Gris. Planted in 1987, located in the middle of our main Pinot Noir block, there are a few partial rows of Pinot Gris that we believed were Pinot Noir. After the vines began producing clusters, we realized something was amiss. We started making a rosé from this fruit in 2014.
The grapes were harvested by hand and destemmed. The fruit was pressed after a 9-day cold soak, settled, and fermented in stainless. The wine was racked off the heavy lees at dryness and aged until bottling.
