This February, we celebrate American Heart Month by raising a glass of Cardiac Hill Pinot Noir. A unique block in our vineyard, just over one acre, this site typically produces enough fruit for us to make just 100 cases of Pinot Noir each vintage. This hillside has tested us over the years--thin topsoil, dramatic slope, and its position on the south edge of our vineyard make these vines vulnerable to hungry deer and birds. We felt the effort was worthwhile however, and in 2005, we began bottling a single-block reserve Pinot Noir from Cardiac Hill.
