Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This Pinot Gris is made from the ripest grapes of the vintage and fermented in neutral French oak barrels, resulting in a wine with a fuller body and round mouthfeel. Clear pale yellow with green undertones, this wine has aromas of tree fruits and citrus, with a hint of sugar cookies. On the palate, find flavors of Granny Smith apple, lemon, lime, with hints of pineapple, cinnamon, and clove. The pleasing unctuousness on the palate mingles with just the right amount of acidity, making this an excellent wine to serve with food.
Vineyard Notes
Sourced from estate vines planted in 1986
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were harvested by hand and gently whole cluster pressed. The juice settled overnight, and then was racked to neutral oak and stainless steel barrels for primary fermentation. After fermentation was complete, the wine aged on the lees for 10 months with some stirring. This wine partially completed malolactic and has just a touch of unfermented sugars.
Food Pairing Notes
Serve chilled with seared fish, oven-roasted chicken, seafood pasta with a cream sauce, chicken tikka masala, or coconut curries.
