Estate Blocks 6-Pack
The Vineyard Architecture Collection
2 Cardiac Hill • 2 Rebecca's Reserve • 2 Heritage
Three blocks. Three philosophies. One extraordinary vintage.
Why This Collection Matters
This isn't just a mixed case—it's a study of how vineyard architecture shapes wine.
Same estate. Same winemaking. Same vintage. But three completely different expressions of Pinot Noir, each determined by the physical reality of the vineyard: the heat of the hill, the density of the planting, the age of the vines.
2017's generous harvest created light-bodied, elegant wines across the estate—but even in this graceful vintage, each block's personality shines through. At 6+ years in bottle, these wines have reached the stage where their differences are most clear.
This is your chance to taste terroir expressed through human design.
The Three Blocks
Cardiac Hill: The Solar Oven
Don't let the name fool you—Cardiac Hill is our lowest elevation block, but it's also our most distinctive. This south-facing amphitheater acts as a solar oven, trapping heat while the steep 45-degree pitch forces the vines to work. In heavy red clay soils, even 2017's generous vintage found savory, earthy expression. While other blocks showcase elegance, Cardiac Hill adds mineral grip and depth.
Savory • Earthy • Mineral character
Rebecca's Reserve: High-Density Precision
Planted in 1992 at high-density 4×4 spacing, Block 8 forces vines into constant competition. This "civil war" under the soil creates smaller berries and higher skin-to-juice ratios. The result: a wine of incredible high-definition—taut, linear, vibrating with spice and mineral energy. It doesn't rely on weight; it relies on focus.
Precise • Linear • Fine tannins
Heritage: The 1984 Original
Block 3 is where the Kramer story began. Planted in 1984 to classic 5×10 spacing, these are the deepest roots on the estate. These 40-year-old vines have seen every version of Oregon weather and have reached a state of equilibrium. In 2017's generous vintage, Heritage delivers graceful elegance—a broad, earthy palette of forest floor, dried cherry, and silky refinement.
Graceful • Elegant • Silky texture

How to Experience This Collection
The Comparative Tasting
Open all three bottles at once (yes, really). Pour small glasses of each. Taste them side by side in this order:
- Heritage first — This is your baseline. Classic Oregon Pinot, earthy and graceful. Notice the silky tannins, the forest floor, the breadth on the palate.
- Rebecca's Reserve second — Feel how the structure tightens. The tannins become more linear. The wine is brighter, more vertical. Same vineyard, but the high-density planting creates a completely different architecture.
- Cardiac Hill last — Now you taste power. The red clay, the slope, the heat. This wine has grip, savory depth, a darker voice. It doesn't ask permission.
Go back to Heritage after Cardiac Hill. Notice how graceful it feels again. That's the beauty of comparison—each wine teaches you about the others.
