Clear pale coral-pink, with aromas of strawberries, nectarine, and rose petals, lead into flavors of watermelon, lemon and cranberry. The bright acidity is offset by a pleasing roundness on the palate, with a long, tart finish.
Own-rooted Gamay Beaujolais clone of Pinot Noir planted in 1986 in Peavine soils, at an elevation of 785 feet.
This wine is made from macerated juice fermented in stainless. The fruit was harvested by hand, sorted, and destemmed. After a five-day cold soak, the fruit was gently pressed, separating the hard press fraction. The juice settled overnight, and was racked to stainless for a cool fermentation. The juice fermented in stainless. When dry, the wine was racked off the heavy lees, blended, and aged in neutral French oak over the winter, and bottled the following spring.
