2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir
Just 75 cases produced!
6 months in neutral French oak
Clear pale coral-pink, with aromas of strawberries, red currant, lavender and vanilla, lead into flavors of peaches and cream, Rainier cherry, black raspberry, with hints of almond and Swedish fish. The bright acidity is offset by a pleasing roundness on the palate, with a long, tart finish.
This wine is sourced from two sites in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA: estate own-rooted Gamay Beaujolais clone of Pinot Noir planted in 1986 in Peavine soils, at an elevation of 785 feet and Dijon 115 clone from Monk's Gate Vineyard.
The fruit was harvested by hand, sorted, crushed, and pressed. The juice settled overnight, and was racked to stainless for a cool fermentation. When dry, the wine was racked off the heavy lees, blended, and aged in neutral French oak over the winter, and bottled the following spring.
