2017 Pinot Noir Library Release
Terroir • Mutation • Time
At 6+ years in bottle, these wines show the tertiary complexity that makes aged Pinot Noir fascinating—forest floor, savory spice, earthy depth—while retaining elegant fruit. This was our largest harvest, allowing us to explore both single-block terroir and single-clone mutations in a single vintage.
Limited Quantities Remaining

2017's generous harvest gave us a luxury: the ability to bottle wines separately to answer fundamental questions about what shapes Pinot Noir.
How Does Site Shape Wine?
Cardiac Hill (steep slope, red clay), Heritage (40-year roots, 5×10 spacing), and Rebecca's Reserve (high-density 4×4). Different vineyard architecture, same winemaking.
How Do Mutations Shape Wine?
Dijon 115 (balance), 777 (structure), and 667 (aromatic). All genetically identical—but centuries of spontaneous mutation created distinct clonal expressions.
What Does Time Do?
Bottled in 2019, these wines have had 6+ years to evolve beyond primary fruit into tertiary complexity: forest floor, mushroom, and savory spice—the hallmarks of mature Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.

"Why open the library now?"
The 2017 vintage in Yamhill-Carlton was defined by a cool start and a warm finish, creating wines with incredible tension. For years, these wines were "tight"—they needed time for the structure to relax.
We recently tasted through the library and realized: The wait is over. The tannins have resolved into silk, and the primary fruit has evolved into that savory, spicy complexity that only comes with age. We did the waiting so you can enjoy them at their peak tonight.
